Event attendance guidelines

When it comes to any in-person meetings for H2O, please abide by the following guidelines. If you have any questions about them, please reach out to a staff member!

  • If you yourself have tested positive for COVID-19, please follow the CDC-recommended guidelines and quarantine yourself 14 days from the time you began experiencing symptoms.
  • If you live in a house where someone has tested positive for COVID-19, you yourself have tested negative, and you're experiencing no symptoms, you're good to come to events at your best discretion.
  • If you live in a house where someone has tested positive but you haven't been tested yet, please don't come to an event until either you have been tested or you have quarantined the CDC-recommended 14 days from the time your roommate received their positive test.

COVID-19 Update: 8/27/20

Hey H2O family! We hope that your semester is off to a great start! We learned that a person involved with our community tested positive for COVID-19 today, so there are some things that have to be changed for the upcoming week.

Life groups will not be meeting in person tomorrow night. Some will be meeting online; others are delaying their start until next week (which still might be online, but we’re not sure yet). Your life group leaders will be in contact with you about this. If you haven’t met your life group leaders yet but you want to get involved in one, you can find the contact info for them on our website at https://h2ocincinnati.com/gatherings/life-groups

The in person Sunday service is cancelled this week, but you can still watch it online by going to our YouTube channel (H2O Cincinnati). The service will be released at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday.

Most people who have been in close proximity to this person have either already been tested or will be tested very soon.

If you are feeling sick/experiencing COVID symptoms, PLEASE stay home and avoid contact with others. We love being around each other and we know that no one wants to miss out on what is going on, but it is important to love each other well by being responsible about this. You should also contact covidwatch@uc.edu to report that you are feeling sick so UC can track the spread of the virus.

We want to be responsible, but we don’t want to be fearful. Remember that God sees you, knows you, and cares about you. He is the master of working through difficult situations, and we must keep our eyes on Him as we try to navigate these crazy times. We love you, we’re praying for you, and we’re here for you. If you have any questions or you need someone to talk or pray with, don’t hesitate to reach out to us (https://h2ocincinnati.com/connect)

COVID-19 Update: 3/14/2020

Dear H2O Family,

Given the continued rapid spread of COVID-19 (coronavirus) and the increased measures our state, university, and city are taking to stop it, there are more changes happening at H2O. Here is what you need to know:

Sunday Service

--The 11:20 service on campus at the Lindner Center has already been cancelled for the remainder of the semester

--The usual 9:30 City service at the Corryville Recreation Center has now also been cancelled. They are not allowing groups to rent out the space for the time being. We will be in communication with you about when this service can resume.

--This Sunday (3/15) we will be meeting outdoors at 647 Probasco Street, Cincinnati, OH 45220 at 10:30 a.m. We will meet in the backyard, so please don’t knock on the front door or attempt to enter the house. Just come around to the backyard (it should be obvious where everyone is, and the backyard is easy to see from an alley that comes off of Probasco Street). This is going to be a prayer and worship service, which we feel is extremely important for our community and for our entire world at this time. Here are a few things to keep in mind for the service:

  • It will be cold, probably around 36 degrees, so please dress warmly. We will have a fire going, but everyone won’t be able to crowd around it at once.
  • There will be no chairs, so if you want to sit at any point you might want to bring a blanket or tarp.
  • Please practice appropriate social distancing, which means staying about 6 feet apart from others. We should have room to spread out decently on the lawn. This also means keeping physical contact to a minimum. We don't want to be crazy about this, but we do want to do our part in helping stem the spread of the coronavirus as best as we reasonably can so that we serve our neighbors well. This involves making sacrifices we don’t like, but it is necessary for the good of others even if you aren’t concerned about it.
  • Use the bathroom before you come because access will be limited, and they are running out of toilet paper :)

--For future Sundays we expect to meet in small groups spread out over various locations, but we will get you the details about this later. There is also a high likelihood that we will have a hub where the preaching is streamed from and then this can be sent out and watched at the small group locations or in your own home if you can’t make it out to your small group. Just know that as of right now we expect to still have some kind of worship gathering on Sundays at 10:30 a.m. for the duration of the semester.

Life Groups

--None of the campus life groups are meeting this Thursday (3/19)

--In light of the recent decision to completely shut down the UC residence halls, campus life groups will now meet off-campus in various homes. We will get the locations for each group sent out to you as soon as they are solidified, but remember that campus life groups won’t resume until 3/26 regardless.

--As of right now everything will continue to operate as normal for the Tuesday City life group. Reach out to Rob Furia (rjfuria@gmail.com, 513-382-1006) if you have any questions.

--The Thursday City life group will be meeting virtually at their regular time. If you have questions about this, reach out to Luke Hocker (luke.hocker@gmail.com, 740-703-9930) or Anna Hocker (anna.hocker25@gmail.com, 513-227-0703).

The Well and Deeper Waters

--These were already not going to meet again on Sunday nights until 3/29. We plan to have the last session, but the situation with coronavirus is changing so rapidly that we don’t want to send out specific details about something that is still over two weeks away. When the date is closer and the situation is clearer, we will send details about this. We encourage the Well mentor relationships to continue for the next couple weeks via Facetime or phone calls if face to face meeting is not possible.

We love you all and we are praying for you! If you have any questions or have specific prayer requests feel free to reach out to Grant Rohlfer (grohlfer@gmail.com, 513-503-6115) or Cassi Rohlfer (lawlescn@gmail.com, 513-349-3883).
